DVD Converter is a simple tool, which helps you to convert your DVD video to another format. You can convert DVD to:

  • MPEG1 (*.mpg, *.mpeg);
     
  • MPEG2 (*.mpg, *.mpeg);
     
  • AVI, DivX, YUV (*.avi);

If you have DivX codec installed on your computer, you can convert your DVD to DivX format. Read  F.A.Q. chapter for more information. You also can create different conversion profiles.
DVD Converter allows you to set size of output video file.

THIS SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT IS A LEGAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU AND MOVIETOOLBOX. READ IT CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION PROCESS AND USING THE SOFTWARE. BY INSTALLING, USING, COPYING, DISTRIBUTING THIS SOFTWARE, YOU AGREE TO ALL OF THE TERMS OF THIS LICENSE. However, you can register the SOFTWARE, and use registered copy of SOFTWARE without any limitations.

 

How to use
 

1. Select source of your DVD files in the field "Source". Press  "Open DVD root" button to select directory with DVD files you want to convert. Remember this directory has to include IFO files.

2. Select target file name in the field "Target". Press  "Browse Output" button to set the name and path to output file.

3.You can create conversion profile or choose existing one.
Press  "Settings" button to open Output Settings dialog. Enter profile name, and choose all output audio and video settings:

  • available audio track;
  • quality of audio:
    • High - 320Kbs;
    • Normal - 192Kbs;
    • Low - 96Kbs;
  • conversion volume;
  • available subtitle;
  • conversion light;
  • frame rate;
  • type of output video:
    • MPEG1;
    • MPEG2;
    • AVI, DivX, Yuv;
  • resolution of output video;
  • size of output video;
    (last two parameters eliminates each other, you can set one of them, and another will be selected automatically)
  • codec settings (you can select codecs available on your computer);
  • output color depth;

Press "Apply" button for saving your settings.
Your can delete selected profile by pressing "Delete this profile" button.
If you want to discard changes, press "Cancel" button.

3. Click "Encode" button to begin conversion process.
You can stop conversion by pressing "Stop" button.

F.A.Q.
 

1. What is CODEC?

Word CODEC is interpreted as "COmpressor/DECompressor". Every video file uses CODEC to compress video and audio streams and decompress them while playback. There are many various codecs. Some CODECs come with Windows. Some CODECs you can download from the Internet.

2. What codecs were installed on my Windows?

  • open Windows Control Panel: START > Settings > Control Panel;

  • click on the Sounds and Audio Devices icon, then select the Hardware tab;

  • choose Audio Codecs or Video Codecs and press Properties button. Select the Properties tab to view the list of the installed codecs.

3. How do I convert the video files to DivX?

DivX is just a codec, which you can use in conversation. You can download DivX codec here:
http://www.divx.com/divx/
So, if you already have DivX codec, you can set it in the Output Settings dialog.
Press "Codec Settings" button and DivX Codec Properties dialog will be opened.
 

 

Registration

 

DVD Converter is shareware software. You can work with unregistered version, but unregistered version converts DVD only during 10 minutes time interval. Registered version of DVD Converter has no limitations. You can register it for  21 USD.
